Product Overview
Clone 28M97 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes mevalonate kinase (gene MVK) in human samples and is validated for Western blot and flow cytometry. The predicted molecular weight is 42.5 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 42 kDa.
Mevalonate kinase (MVK) phosphorylates mevalonate to mevalonate 5-phosphate, an early step of the mevalonate pathway leading to cholesterol and non-sterol isoprenoids. MVK deficiency causes mevalonic aciduria and hyperimmunoglobulinemia D syndrome, so the enzyme is studied in isoprenoid metabolism and autoinflammation.
