Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody recognizes major vault protein (gene MVP) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, ICC/IF and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 99.3 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 100–110 kDa.
Major vault protein (MVP) is the main structural component of vaults, very large barrel-shaped ribonucleoprotein particles in the cytoplasm. Many MVP copies assemble into the vault shell, which also contains PARP4, TEP1 and small vault RNAs. Vaults have been linked to transport and signaling, including dampening of interferon-γ/STAT1 signaling, and to drug resistance.

Validated Applications
| Western blot | 0.1–0.5 µg/mL (Human, Mouse, Rat) |
|---|---|
| Immunocytochemistry / Immunofluorescence | 5 µg/mL (Human) |
| ELISA | 0.1–0.5 µg/mL |
Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human A549 cells, human U2OS cells, human HepG2 cells, human THP-1 cells, human HeLa cells, human SW620 cells, rat RH35 cells, mouse RAW264.7 cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 8% SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with confirmed staining (ICC/IF): HeLa cells.
Immunogen
Recombinant human MVP fragment (Ala2–His259), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places major vault protein in the cytoplasm and nucleus. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Present in most normal tissues. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
