Product Overview
Clone ACID-13 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes myelin-oligodendrocyte glycoprotein (gene MOG) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC and ICC/IF. The predicted molecular weight is 28.2 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 25 kDa.
Myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein (MOG) is an immunoglobulin-superfamily glycoprotein found on the outermost surface of central nervous system myelin. Although it is a minor myelin component, its exposed location makes it an important autoantigen, and it is widely used to induce experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis and studied in MOG antibody-associated disease.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): rat brain, mouse brain.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 12% SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 1:500 overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Conditions in the example images (IHC): heat-mediated antigen retrieval in EDTA buffer (pH 8.0).
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of human myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Found exclusively in the CNS, where it is localized on the surface of myelin and oligodendrocyte cytoplasmic membranes. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
