Overview
This antibody is intended for detection of NMI (N-myc-interactor) in biological samples using common immunoassay formats. It is typically selected based on target identity, species reactivity, clonality/clone information, and detection modality.
Vendor notes: Boster Bio Anti-N myc interactor/NMI Antibody Picoband® catalog # PB9340. Tested in Flow Cytometry, IF, IHC, ICC, WB applications. This antibody reacts with Human. The brand Picoband indicates this is a premium antibody that guarantees superior quality, high affinity, and strong signals with minimal background in Western blot applications. Only our best-performing antibodies are designated as Picoband, ensuring unmatched performance.
Key elements and design rationale
- Antibody format: Rabbit Polyclonal Rabbit IgG
- Immunogen / epitope context: E.coli-derived human NMI recombinant protein (Position: E2-E307). Human NMI shares 64% amino acid (aa) sequence identity with mouse NMI. (reported region: E2-E307).
- Molecular weight context: reported MW: 35 kDa; calculated MW: 35057 MW
- Reactivity: Human
- Applications: Flow Cytometry, IF, IHC, ICC, WB
As a polyclonal antibody, the reagent recognizes multiple epitopes on the target, which can improve detection robustness but may increase sensitivity to sample-dependent epitope changes.
Biological background
N-myc-interactor; N-myc-interactor. NMYC interactor (NMI) encodes a protein that interacts with NMYC and CMYC (two members of the oncogene Myc family), and other transcription factors containing a Zip, HLH, or HLH-Zip motif. The NMI protein also interacts with all STATs except STAT2 and augments STAT-mediated transcription in response to cytokines IL2 and IFN-gamma. The NMI mRNA has low expression levels in all human fetal and adult tissues tested except brain and has high expression in cancer cell line-myeloid leukemias. Functional note: May be involved in augmenting coactivator protein recruitment to a group of sequence-specific transcription factors. Augments cytokine-mediated STAT transcription. Enhances CBP/p300 coactivator protein recruitment to STAT1 and STAT5. Reported localization: Cytoplasm. Expression/tissue context: Expressed in all adult and fetal tissues except brain and skin. More abundant in fetal tissues especially liver.
Research relevance and current trends
- Cytoskeleton: Researchers commonly examine how NMI (N-myc-interactor) relates to this theme using model systems and orthogonal readouts.
- Cytoskeleton/ECM: Researchers commonly examine how NMI (N-myc-interactor) relates to this theme using model systems and orthogonal readouts.
- Motor Proteins: Researchers commonly examine how NMI (N-myc-interactor) relates to this theme using model systems and orthogonal readouts.
Common research applications
- Western blotting: compare relative NMI (N-myc-interactor) levels across conditions; band patterns may reflect isoforms and processing.
- IHC/IHC-F: assess spatial distribution of NMI (N-myc-interactor) across tissue regions and cell types using matched controls.
- IF/ICC: evaluate subcellular localization and co-localization patterns; signal can depend on fixation/permeabilization and epitope accessibility.
- Flow cytometry: quantify target-positive populations and shifts in expression; gating strategy and background staining controls are essential.
Notes for experimental interpretation
- Specificity notes: No cross reactivity with other proteins.
- Cross-reactivity: No cross-reactivity with other proteins
- Isoforms and PTMs: Apparent size and signal patterns can differ across splice isoforms, proteolytic processing, and post-translational modifications.
- Controls: Include an isotype control (as relevant), no-primary control for imaging, and orthogonal validation such as KD/KO samples when available.
