Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody recognizes N-acetylneuraminate-9-phosphate synthase (gene NANS) in human and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, ICC/IF and ELISA.
N-acetylneuraminate synthase (NANS) condenses phosphoenolpyruvate with N-acetylmannosamine 6-phosphate to form N-acetylneuraminate 9-phosphate, a key step in sialic acid synthesis. It can also produce the related sugar KDN-9-phosphate. NANS deficiency causes a skeletal dysplasia with developmental delay.
