Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody recognizes platelet basic protein (gene PPBP) in human samples and is validated for ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 13.9 kDa.
Pro-platelet basic protein (PPBP) is stored in platelet granules and released on activation. It is cleaved into several peptides, including connective tissue-activating peptide III, β-thromboglobulin and the chemokine NAP-2 (CXCL7). NAP-2 signals through CXCR1 and CXCR2 to attract neutrophils, so PPBP is studied in platelet activation and inflammation.
