Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets NAD(P)H-hydrate epimerase (gene NAXE) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC, flow cytometry and ELISA.
NAXE, also called apolipoprotein A-I binding protein (AIBP), is an epimerase that interconverts the R and S forms of NAD(P)HX, damaged hydrated forms of NAD(P)H, enabling their repair. Its secreted form binds apoA-I and promotes cholesterol efflux, which limits angiogenesis and inflammation. NAXE deficiency causes a severe neurometabolic disorder.

Conditions in the example images (IHC): heat-mediated antigen retrieval in EDTA buffer (pH 8.0).
Immunogen
Recombinant human NAXE fragment (Arg46–Gln288), expressed in E. coli. Sequence identity with the mouse and rat orthologs: 93% and 94.2%, respectively.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt describes NAD(P)H-hydrate epimerase as secreted and also located in the mitochondrion. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Ubiquitously expressed, with highest levels in kidney, heart and liver.
