Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets neurocalcin-delta (gene NCALD) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 22.2 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 18–20 kDa.
Neurocalcin-δ (NCALD) is a neuronal calcium sensor protein with EF-hand motifs that binds Ca2+ and undergoes a calcium-myristoyl switch to associate with membranes. It is thought to regulate calcium-dependent processes such as endocytosis, and reduced NCALD has been identified as a protective modifier of spinal muscular atrophy.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human SH-SY5Y cells, human HEL cells, rat brain tissue, mouse brain tissue.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 12% SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.25 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.

Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Retina, cerebrum, cerebellum, brain stem, spinal cord, testis, ovary and small intestine. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
