Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody detects neural cell adhesion molecule 1 (gene NCAM1) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, ICC/IF, flow cytometry and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 94.6 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 150 kDa.
NCAM1 (CD56) is a cell adhesion molecule of the immunoglobulin superfamily. In the nervous system it mediates neuron–neuron adhesion and neurite outgrowth, and its polysialylated form supports plasticity; in immunology, CD56 is the standard surface marker of natural killer cells.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): rat brain tissue, mouse brain tissue, mouse Neuro-2a cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with confirmed staining (ICC/IF): U2OS cells.
Samples with a confirmed signal (flow cytometry): 293T cells, U2OS cells.
Immunogen
Recombinant human NCAM1 fragment (Thr80–Thr328), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
