Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody recognizes NADH-ubiquinone oxidoreductase chain 4 (gene Mt-nd4) in rat samples and is validated for Western blot.
MT-ND4 is a mitochondrial DNA-encoded core subunit of the membrane arm of complex I (NADH:ubiquinone oxidoreductase), the first enzyme of the respiratory chain. It contributes to proton pumping and complex I activity, and the m.11778G>A mutation in MT-ND4 is the most common cause of Leber hereditary optic neuropathy.

Immunogen
Synthetic peptide from the N-terminal region of rat ND4/Mtnd4. Sequence identity with the mouse ortholog: 82.3%.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with rat. UniProt places NADH-ubiquinone oxidoreductase chain 4 in the mitochondrion inner membrane.
