Product Overview
Clone AAGI-14 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes neurofilament medium polypeptide (gene NEFM) in human, pig and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC, ICC/IF and immunoprecipitation. The predicted molecular weight is 102.5 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 160 kDa.
Neurofilament medium chain (NF-M, NEFM) is one of the three subunits of neurofilaments, the intermediate filaments of neurons, together with NF-L and NF-H. It co-assembles with the other subunits into filaments that support the structure and caliber of axons, and it is used as a neuronal marker.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human 293T cells lysate, human SH-SY5Y cells lysate.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 8% SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 1:500 overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with confirmed staining (IHC): rat cerebellum tissue, pig brain tissue.
Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.
Conditions in the example images (IHC): heat-mediated antigen retrieval in EDTA buffer (pH 8.0).
