Product Overview
Clone 19N33 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes nicastrin (gene NCSTN) in human samples and is validated for Western blot and ICC/IF. The predicted molecular weight is 78.4 kDa; the supplier reports observed bands at 120, 140 kDa.
Nicastrin (NCSTN) is a single-pass membrane glycoprotein and essential subunit of γ-secretase, together with presenilin, APH-1 and PEN-2. This protease cuts substrates such as Notch receptors and the amyloid precursor protein (APP) within the membrane, so nicastrin is studied in Notch signaling, Alzheimer′s disease research and skin biology.

Immunogen
Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of human nicastrin.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human. UniProt places nicastrin in the membrane, cytoplasmic vesicle membrane and melanosome. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Detected in brain (at protein level). The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
