Product Overview
Clone FBI-5 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes gamma-enolase (gene ENO2) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC, ICC/IF and flow cytometry. The predicted molecular weight is 47.3 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 47 kDa.
Gamma-enolase (ENO2), also known as neuron-specific enolase (NSE), is the enolase isoform found mainly in neurons and neuroendocrine cells. Besides its glycolytic role, it has reported neurotrophic effects, and NSE is widely used as a marker of neuronal and neuroendocrine cells in tissue studies.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): HeLa cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Samples with confirmed staining (IHC): human uterus cancer tissue.
Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.
Samples with confirmed staining (ICC/IF): A431 cells.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of human NSE.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places gamma-enolase in the cytoplasm and cell membrane. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): The alpha/alpha homodimer is expressed in embryo and in most adult tissues. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
