Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody detects nuclear pore complex protein Nup98-Nup96 in human, monkey, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, ICC/IF, flow cytometry and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 197.6 kDa; the supplier reports observed bands at 98,105 kDa.
Nup98 is produced with Nup96 from a single precursor that is cleaved by self-processing; Nup98 is a mobile FG-repeat nucleoporin involved in two-way transport through the nuclear pore complex. It also influences gene expression inside the nucleus, and NUP98 fusion proteins are well-known drivers of acute myeloid leukemia.

Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with confirmed staining (ICC/IF): A549 cells.
Samples with a confirmed signal (flow cytometry): K562 cells.
Immunogen
Recombinant human NUP98 fragment (His728–Ile1787), expressed in E. coli. Sequence identity with the mouse and rat orthologs: 89.1% and 89%, respectively.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, monkey, mouse and rat. UniProt places nuclear pore complex protein Nup98-Nup96 in the nuclear membrane, nucleoplasmic side and nucleus. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
