Product Overview
Clone 22O12 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes ornithine decarboxylase (gene ODC1) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot. The predicted molecular weight is 51.1 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 51 kDa.
Ornithine decarboxylase (ODC1) carries out the committed, rate-limiting reaction of polyamine synthesis, converting ornithine to putrescine. Polyamines are needed for cell growth, so ODC is tightly regulated by antizyme and rapid turnover and is widely studied in proliferation and cancer biology.
