Product Overview
Clone 17O87 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes calcium release-activated calcium channel protein 1 (gene ORAI1) in human samples and is validated for Western blot. The predicted molecular weight is 32.7 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 33 kDa.
ORAI1 is the pore-forming subunit of the calcium release-activated calcium (CRAC) channel in the plasma membrane. When ER calcium stores are depleted, the sensor STIM1 opens ORAI1 to allow store-operated calcium entry, which is essential for T-cell activation, and ORAI1 loss causes a severe combined immunodeficiency.

Immunogen
Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of human orai1.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human. UniProt places calcium release-activated calcium channel protein 1 in the cell membrane and basolateral cell membrane. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Expressed in naive CD4 and CD8 T cells (at protein level). The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
