Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets origin recognition complex subunit 2 (gene ORC2) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC, ICC/IF, flow cytometry and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 66.0 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 74 kDa.
ORC2 is a subunit of the origin recognition complex, which marks DNA replication origins and nucleates assembly of the pre-replication complex. ORC2 is also found at heterochromatin and centromeres, and it is studied in DNA replication licensing and chromatin organization.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human MCF-7 cells, human PC-3 cells, human A2780 cells, human A431 cells, rat testis tissue, rat PC-12 cells, mouse testis tissue, mouse NIH/3T3 cells, human HepG2 cells, human HeLa cells, human 293T cells, human U2OS cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.25 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with confirmed staining (IHC): diffuse large B-cells lymphoma of human intestine tissue, human prostate adenocarcinoma tissue.
Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.
Conditions in the example images (IHC): heat-mediated antigen retrieval in EDTA buffer (pH 8.0).
Samples with confirmed staining (ICC/IF): A549 cells.
Samples with a confirmed signal (flow cytometry): HepG2 cells.
Immunogen
Recombinant human ORC2 fragment (Glu130–Arg493), expressed in E. coli. Sequence identity with the mouse and rat orthologs: 80.2% and 79.4%, respectively.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places origin recognition complex subunit 2 in the nucleus. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
