Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets origin recognition complex subunit 5 (gene ORC5) in human, mouse, rat and monkey samples and is validated for Western blot, ICC/IF and flow cytometry. The predicted molecular weight is 50.3 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 50 kDa.
ORC5 is an ATP-binding subunit of the origin recognition complex, which binds replication origins and recruits the factors needed to license DNA replication. It is studied in DNA replication initiation and genome stability.

Validated Applications
| Western blot | 0.1–0.25 µg/mL (Human, Mouse, Rat, Monkey) |
|---|---|
| Immunocytochemistry / Immunofluorescence | 5 µg/mL (Human) |
| Flow cytometry (fixed cells) | 1–3 µg/1×106 cells (Human) |
Samples with a confirmed band (WB): monkey COS-7 cells, human placenta tissue, human K562 cells, human MCF-7 cells, rat testis tissue, rat kidney tissue, mouse ovary tissue, mouse testis tissue.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.25 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with confirmed staining (ICC/IF): MCF-7 cells.
Samples with a confirmed signal (flow cytometry): U87 cells.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide from the middle region of human ORC5. The peptide sequence is conserved in mouse.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse, rat and monkey. UniProt places origin recognition complex subunit 5 in the nucleus and chromosome. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Abundant in spleen, ovary, prostate, testis, and colon mucosa. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
