Overview

This product is an anti-ORM2 antibody for target detection and characterization. Key identifiers include host species: Rabbit; Monoclonal; clone ACCC-15; isotype Rabbit IgG; reactivity: Human. Reported application contexts include WB, IHC (as provided in the source record). Boster Bio Anti-ORM1 Monoclonal Antibody catalog # M04684. Tested in WB, IHC applications. This antibody reacts with Human.

Key elements and design rationale

  • Target: ORM2 (Ras-related protein Rab-4A).
  • Antibody format: Monoclonal; clone ACCC-15; isotype Rabbit IgG.
  • Host: Rabbit.
  • Species reactivity: Human (confirm in your model system with appropriate controls).

This description is intended to help interpret the antibody design and the biological context of the target using the fields provided in the catalog record, alongside general experimental considerations.

Biological background

ORM2 (protein: T-cell surface glycoprotein CD3 zeta chain) is a commonly studied target in molecular and cellular biology. Functional context (as provided): Protein transport. Probably involved in vesicular traffic (By similarity). . Reported cellular localization context: Membrane; Peripheral membrane protein. Cytoplasm. Generally associated with membranes. Cytoplasmic when phosphorylated by CDK1. Tissue expression notes (as provided): Widely expressed, including brain and spinal cord. .

Research relevance and current trends

  • Research context keywords from the source record include: Cancer,Cell Type Marker,G Protein Signaling,Neuron Marker,Neuroscience,Organelles,Protein Trafficking,Signal Transduction,Signaling Pathway,Small G Proteins,Subcellular Markers,Synapse Marker,Tags & Cell Markers,Vesicle Transport.
  • Current studies often focus on connecting target abundance/localization to pathway perturbations across models, tissues, and cell states.
  • Quantitative and multiplexed assays (e.g., imaging + immunoblot panels) are commonly used to compare phenotypes across conditions and time-courses.

Common research applications

  • Western blotting (WB): assess relative target abundance across samples, treatments, or time-points.
  • Immunohistochemistry (IHC): evaluate spatial distribution of target-positive staining in tissue architecture.

Workflow ideas (metafield): Validate ORM2 antibody specificity using KO/KD control samples (WB/IF/IHC as appropriate), Detect ORM2 expression by Western blot in cell or tissue lysates, Detect ORM2 in FFPE tissue sections by immunohistochemistry

Notes for experimental interpretation

  • Consider isoforms and post-translational modifications (PTMs) that may shift apparent molecular weight or epitope accessibility.
  • Apparent molecular weight may vary by sample type and processing (observed MW: 110 kDa; calculated MW: 24390 MW).
  • Control concepts: include appropriate negative controls (e.g., isotype, KO/KD samples) and orthogonal validation when feasible.

Additional product details (from the source record)

  • Molecular weight (observed): 110 kDa
  • Cellular localization (provided): Membrane; Peripheral membrane protein. Cytoplasm. Generally associated with membranes. Cytoplasmic when phosphorylated by CDK1.
  • Tissue details (provided): Widely expressed, including brain and spinal cord. .

I have a question about product M04684, anti-ORM1 Monoclonal antibody. I was wondering if it would be possible to conjugate this antibody with biotin. I would need it to be without BSA or sodium azide. I am planning on using a buffer exchange of sodium azide with PBS only. Would there be problems for me to conjugate the antibody and store it in -20 degrees in small aliquots?
We do not advise storing this antibody with PBS buffer only in -20 degrees. If you want to store it in -20 degrees it is best to add some cryoprotectant like glycerol. If you want carrier free M04684 anti-ORM1 Monoclonal antibody, we can provide it to you in a special formula with trehalose and/or glycerol. These molecules will not interfere with conjugation chemistry and provide a good level of protection for the antibody from degradation. Please be sure to specify this in your purchase order.
