Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody recognizes transcription factor Ovo-like 2 (gene OVOL2) in human samples and is validated for Western blot, ICC/IF, flow cytometry and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 30.4 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 37 kDa.
OVOL2 is a zinc-finger transcriptional repressor that helps epithelial cells keep their identity. It opposes epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition largely by silencing ZEB1, restrains keratinocyte proliferation through MYC and NOTCH1, and also influences brown fat thermogenesis and adipocyte formation.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human A431 cells, human RT4 cells, human Hacat cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with confirmed staining (ICC/IF): U2OS cells.
Samples with a confirmed signal (flow cytometry): Jurkat cells.

Recombinant human OVOL2 fragment (Met1–Glu271), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human. UniProt places transcription factor Ovo-like 2 in the nucleus. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Expressed in testis, ovary, heart and skeletal muscle.
