Product Overview
Clone FDB-1 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes ATP-dependent translocase ABCB1 in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot and IHC. The predicted molecular weight is 141.5 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 180 kDa.
P-glycoprotein (ABCB1, MDR1) is an ATP-powered efflux pump in the plasma membrane that expels a wide range of drugs and moves certain phospholipids across the membrane. High ABCB1 levels are a classic cause of multidrug resistance in cancer cells, and it also shapes drug absorption and the blood-brain barrier.

Validated Applications
| Western blot | 1:500–1:2000 |
|---|---|
| Immunohistochemistry | 1:50–1:200 |
Samples with confirmed staining (IHC): rat heart tissue, human cardiac muscle tissue, mouse skin tissue, rat spleen tissue, human adrenal gland tissue.
Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.
Conditions in the example images (IHC): heat-mediated antigen retrieval in EDTA buffer (pH 8.0).
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of human P Glycoprotein.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places ATP-dependent translocase ABCB1 in the cell membrane, apical cell membrane and cytoplasm. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Expressed in small intestine. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
