Product Overview
Clone 26G33 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes transcriptional repressor p66-alpha (gene GATAD2A) in human and mouse samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC, ICC/IF and flow cytometry. The predicted molecular weight is 68.1 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 68 kDa.
GATAD2A (p66α) is a core subunit of the NuRD complex, which combines chromatin remodeling with histone deacetylase activity to repress genes. It helps link methyl-CpG-binding proteins such as MBD2 to the complex. GATAD2A is studied in chromatin regulation and gene silencing.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human K562 cells, human Daudi cells, human HL-60 cells, mouse thymus tissue.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 1:500 overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:10000, ECL detection.
Samples with confirmed staining (IHC): human breast cancer tissue, human lung cancer tissue, human esophageal cancer tissue, human rectal cancer tissue, human tonsil tissue, human liver cancer tissue, human pancreas cancer tissue, human stomach cancer tissue, mouse testis tissue.
Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.
Conditions in the example images (IHC): heat-mediated antigen retrieval in EDTA buffer (pH 8.0).
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of human p66 alpha.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human and mouse. UniProt places transcriptional repressor p66-alpha in the nucleus speckle, nucleus and chromosome. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Ubiquitous, both in fetal and adult tissues. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
