Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody recognizes tumor necrosis factor receptor superfamily member 16 (gene NGFR) in human and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, ICC/IF, flow cytometry and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 45.2 kDa; the supplier reports observed bands at 45 kDa, 75 kDa.
p75 neurotrophin receptor (p75NTR, NGFR, CD271) is a TNF receptor superfamily member that binds all neurotrophins with low affinity. With Trk receptors it fine-tunes neurotrophin signaling, while with sortilin family partners it binds proneurotrophins and can trigger cell death; it is also a widely used marker of neural crest and some stem cells.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): rat brain tissue, human Sw620 cells, human Caco-2 cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with confirmed staining (ICC/IF): A431 cells.
Samples with a confirmed signal (flow cytometry): A431 cells.
Immunogen
Recombinant human p75 NGF Receptor/NGFR fragment (Lys29–Gln240), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human and rat. UniProt places tumor necrosis factor receptor superfamily member 16 in the cell membrane, cytoplasm, perikaryon and cell projection. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
