Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody recognizes platelet-activating factor acetylhydrolase (gene PLA2G7) in human samples and is validated for ELISA and Western blot. The predicted molecular weight is 50.1 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 50 kDa.
PLA2G7 encodes lipoprotein-associated phospholipase A2 (Lp-PLA2), also known as platelet-activating factor acetylhydrolase. Carried mainly on LDL in plasma, it inactivates PAF and hydrolyzes oxidized phospholipids, and it is studied as an inflammatory marker in atherosclerosis research.

Validated Applications
| Western blot | 0.1–0.5 µg/mL |
|---|---|
| ELISA (capture antibody) | 1–5 µg/mL |
Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human Caco-2 cells, human SW620 cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 50 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:10000, ECL detection.
Immunogen
Recombinant human PAFAH fragment (Ala176–Asn415), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human. UniProt describes platelet-activating factor acetylhydrolase as a secreted protein. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Plasma. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
