Product Overview
Clone AOFB-16 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes parvalbumin alpha (gene PVALB) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC and immunoprecipitation. The predicted molecular weight is 12.1 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 12 kDa.
Parvalbumin (PVALB) is a small EF-hand protein that binds two Ca2+ ions. It acts as a fast calcium buffer in fast-twitch muscle, helping muscle relax after contraction, and it marks a major class of fast-spiking GABAergic interneurons in the brain.
