Product Overview
Clone BIF-16 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes paxillin (gene PXN) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC, ICC/IF and immunoprecipitation. The predicted molecular weight is 64.5 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 65 kDa.
Paxillin (PXN) is a focal adhesion adaptor protein that links integrin-based adhesions to the actin cytoskeleton. It is phosphorylated by FAK and Src and serves as a docking site for many signaling and structural proteins, so it is widely used as a marker in studies of cell adhesion and migration.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human HeLa cells, human MCF-7 cells, human K562 cells, human U2OS cells, rat heart tissue, mouse heart tissue.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 10% SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 1:500 overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with confirmed staining (IHC): human breast carcinoma tissue.
Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of human paxillin.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places paxillin in the cytoplasm and cell junction. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
