Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody detects poly(rC)-binding protein 2 (gene PCBP2) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC, flow cytometry and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 38.6 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 39 kDa.
PCBP2 (hnRNP E2) is a KH-domain protein that binds C-rich RNA and single-stranded DNA. It regulates mRNA stability and translation and dampens antiviral signaling by promoting degradation of the adaptor MAVS.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human T-47D cells, human HepG2 cells, human HL-60 cells, human A549 cells, rat brain tissue, mouse brain tissue.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 50 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with confirmed staining (IHC): mouse brain tissue, rat brain tissue, human ovarian cancer tissue, human pancreatic cancer tissue, human rectal cancer tissue.
Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.
Conditions in the example images (IHC): heat-mediated antigen retrieval in EDTA buffer (pH 8.0).
Samples with a confirmed signal (flow cytometry): THP-1 cells.

Recombinant human PCBP2/hnRNP E2 fragment (Gln197–Lys276), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places poly(rC)-binding protein 2 in the nucleus and cytoplasm. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Detected in all tissues examined. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
