Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets protocadherin alpha-8 (gene PCDHA8) in human and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, flow cytometry and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 103.1 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 150 kDa.
Protocadherin α-8 (PCDHA8) is a member of the clustered α-protocadherin family of Ca2+-dependent adhesion molecules. These neuronal surface proteins are studied for their roles in cell recognition and the formation of neural connections.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human PC-3 cells, rat C6 cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with a confirmed signal (flow cytometry): SH-SY5Y cells.

Recombinant human PCDHA8 fragment (His118–Gln801), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human and rat. UniProt places protocadherin alpha-8 in the cell membrane. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
