Product Overview
Clone 20P18 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes phosphoenolpyruvate carboxykinase, cytosolic (gene PCK1) in human samples and is validated for Western blot and IHC. The predicted molecular weight is 69.2 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 69 kDa.
PEPCK-C (PCK1) is the cytosolic phosphoenolpyruvate carboxykinase that converts oxaloacetate to phosphoenolpyruvate. This is a rate-limiting step of gluconeogenesis in liver and kidney, and the enzyme also supports glyceroneogenesis in adipose tissue.

Validated Applications
| Western blot | 1:500–1:2000 |
|---|---|
| Immunohistochemistry | 1:50–1:200 |
Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human fetal kidney.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Samples with confirmed staining (IHC): human liver cancer tissue, human cervical cancer tissue.
Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.
Conditions in the example images (IHC): heat-mediated antigen retrieval in EDTA buffer (pH 8.0).
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of human PCK1.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human. UniProt places phosphoenolpyruvate carboxykinase, cytosolic in the cytoplasm and endoplasmic reticulum. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Major sites of expression are liver, kidney and adipocytes. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
