Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets proprotein convertase subtilisin/kexin type 9 (gene Pcsk9) in mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 74.8 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 74 kDa.
PCSK9 is a secreted proprotein convertase made mainly in the liver that binds the LDL receptor and sends it for lysosomal degradation. By lowering LDL receptor levels it raises plasma LDL cholesterol, which made PCSK9 a major target of cholesterol-lowering antibodies and siRNA drugs.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): mouse liver tissue.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.

Recombinant mouse PCSK9 fragment (Gln182–His560), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with mouse and rat. UniProt describes proprotein convertase subtilisin/kexin type 9 as secreted and also located in the cytoplasm, endosome and lysosome. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (mouse): Hepatocytes, kidney mesenchymal cells, intestinal ileum, colon epithelia and embryonic brain telencephalon neurons. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
