Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets programmed cell death protein 4 (gene PDCD4) in human samples and is validated for Western blot and flow cytometry. The predicted molecular weight is 51.7 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 64 kDa.
PDCD4 (programmed cell death 4) is a translational repressor that binds the RNA helicase eIF4A and blocks its helicase activity and its association with eIF4G, reducing cap-dependent translation initiation. It also dampens JNK/AP-1 signaling, and because it acts as a tumor suppressor that restrains neoplastic transformation and invasion, it is widely studied in cancer biology and microRNA-21 regulation.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human HeLa cells, human 293T cells, human Jurkat cells, human T-47D cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with a confirmed signal (flow cytometry): HepG2 cells.

Synthetic peptide from the middle region of human PDCD4. The peptide sequence is conserved in mouse and rat.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human. UniProt places programmed cell death protein 4 in the nucleus and cytoplasm. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Up-regulated in proliferative cells.
