Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody recognizes platelet-derived growth factor subunit A (gene PDGFA) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, ICC/IF and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 24.0 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 24 kDa.
PDGF-A is a polypeptide chain of platelet-derived growth factor that forms PDGF-AA homodimers or PDGF-AB heterodimers with PDGF-B. Acting mainly through PDGFRα, it stimulates proliferation, migration and survival of mesenchymal cells and is needed for development of lung alveoli, the gut, oligodendrocytes and Leydig cells. It is studied in development, wound healing and fibrosis.

Validated Applications
| Western blot | 0.25–0.5 µg/mL (Human, Mouse, Rat) |
|---|---|
| Immunocytochemistry / Immunofluorescence | 5 µg/mL (Human) |
| ELISA | 0.1–0.5 µg/mL |
Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human Hacat cells, rat PC-12 cells, mouse lung tissue.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with confirmed staining (ICC/IF): SiHa cells.
Immunogen
Recombinant human PDGF AA/PDGFA fragment (Ser87–Thr211), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt describes platelet-derived growth factor subunit A as a secreted protein. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
