Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody recognizes platelet-derived growth factor C (gene PDGFC) in human samples and is validated for Western blot, flow cytometry and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 39.0 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 39 kDa.
PDGF-C is a PDGF family growth factor secreted in a latent form with an N-terminal CUB domain that must be removed by proteolysis before the PDGF-CC dimer can activate PDGFRα. It stimulates mesenchymal cell growth and migration and contributes to craniofacial and palate development, wound healing, angiogenesis and fibrosis.

Validated Applications
| Western blot | 0.25–0.5 µg/mL (Human) |
|---|---|
| Flow cytometry (fixed cells) | 1–3 µg/1×106 cells (Human) |
| ELISA | 0.1–0.5 µg/mL |
Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human MDA-MB-453 cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with a confirmed signal (flow cytometry): U251 cells.
Immunogen
Recombinant human PDGFC fragment (Leu288–Gly345), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human. UniProt describes platelet-derived growth factor C as secreted and also located in the cytoplasm, nucleus and cytoplasmic granule. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Expressed in the fallopian tube, vascular smooth muscle cells in kidney, breast and colon and in visceral smooth muscle of the gastrointestinal tract. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
