Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody detects [Pyruvate dehydrogenase (acetyl-transferring)] kinase isozyme 3, mitochondrial (gene PDK3) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC, ICC/IF, flow cytometry and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 46.9 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 47 kDa.
Pyruvate dehydrogenase kinase 3 (PDK3) is a mitochondrial kinase that inhibits the pyruvate dehydrogenase complex through phosphorylation of PDHA1. It reduces glucose oxidation in favor of fat metabolism, for example during fasting, and like other PDK isoforms it is studied in metabolic regulation and cancer metabolism.

Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places [Pyruvate dehydrogenase (acetyl-transferring)] kinase isozyme 3, mitochondrial in the mitochondrion matrix. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Expressed in heart, skeletal muscle, spinal cord, as well as fetal and adult brain. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
