Overview

This antibody is intended for detection of ETV4 (ETS translocation variant 4) in biological samples using common immunoassay formats. It is typically selected based on target identity, species reactivity, clonality/clone information, and detection modality.

Vendor notes: Boster Bio Anti-Pea3/ETV4 Antibody Picoband® catalog # PB9699. Tested in WB applications. This antibody reacts with Human, Rat. The brand Picoband indicates this is a premium antibody that guarantees superior quality, high affinity, and strong signals with minimal background in Western blot applications. Only our best-performing antibodies are designated as Picoband, ensuring unmatched performance.

Key elements and design rationale

  • Antibody format: Rabbit Polyclonal Rabbit IgG
  • Immunogen / epitope context: A synthetic peptide corresponding to a sequence at the N-terminus of human Pea3, different from the related mouse sequence by seven amino acids.
  • Molecular weight context: reported MW: 68 kDa; calculated MW: 53938 MW
  • Reactivity: Human,Rat
  • Applications: WB

As a polyclonal antibody, the reagent recognizes multiple epitopes on the target, which can improve detection robustness but may increase sensitivity to sample-dependent epitope changes.

Biological background

ETS translocation variant 4; ETS translocation variant 4. ETS translocation variant 4  (ETV4), also known as polyoma enhancer activator 3  (PEA3), or E1AF, is a member of the PEA3 subfamily of Ets transcription factors. It is mapped to 17q21.31. E1AF can activate the promoters of various matrix metalloproteinases, genes whose expression is associated with tumor cell invasion and metastasis, by 10 to 20 fold. Pea3 is detected in cells of epithelial and fibroblastic origin. It is also a transcriptional activator that binds to the enhancer of the adenovirus E1A gene. Functional note: Transcriptional activator that binds to the enhancer of the adenovirus E1A gene; the core-binding sequence is 5'[AC]GGA[AT]GT-3'. . Reported localization: Nucleus. Expression/tissue context: Brain.

Research relevance and current trends

  • Domain Families: Researchers commonly examine how ETV4 (ETS translocation variant 4) relates to this theme using model systems and orthogonal readouts.
  • Epigenetics and Nuclear Signaling: Researchers commonly examine how ETV4 (ETS translocation variant 4) relates to this theme using model systems and orthogonal readouts.
  • Host-Virus Interaction: Researchers commonly examine how ETV4 (ETS translocation variant 4) relates to this theme using model systems and orthogonal readouts.

Common research applications

  • Western blotting: compare relative ETV4 (ETS translocation variant 4) levels across conditions; band patterns may reflect isoforms and processing.

Notes for experimental interpretation

  • Specificity notes: No cross reactivity with other proteins.
  • Cross-reactivity: No cross-reactivity with other proteins
  • Isoforms and PTMs: Apparent size and signal patterns can differ across splice isoforms, proteolytic processing, and post-translational modifications.
  • Controls: Include an isotype control (as relevant), no-primary control for imaging, and orthogonal validation such as KD/KO samples when available.
