Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets paternally-expressed gene 3 protein (gene PEG3) in human samples and is validated for Western blot, ICC/IF, flow cytometry and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 180.8 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 200 kDa.
PEG3 is a paternally expressed, imprinted gene encoding a large zinc finger protein. It cooperates with SIAH1 in p53-dependent neuronal cell death and interacts with TRAF2 in TNF signaling, and mouse studies link it to maternal behavior and growth. It is studied in genomic imprinting and as a candidate tumor suppressor in glioma.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human HepG2 cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with confirmed staining (ICC/IF): U2OS cells.
Samples with a confirmed signal (flow cytometry): PC-3 cells.
Immunogen
Recombinant human PEG3 fragment (Met1–Arg1548), expressed in E. coli. Sequence identity with the mouse ortholog: 62.3%.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human. UniProt places paternally-expressed gene 3 protein in the nucleus and cytoplasm. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Brain, glial cells, astrocytes, embryo, placenta, testis, ovary and uterus. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
