Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets perilipin-3 (gene PLIN3) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for IHC and Western blot. The predicted molecular weight is 47.1 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 47 kDa.
Perilipin-3 (also called TIP47) is a widely expressed lipid droplet protein that coats nascent droplets and supports their formation. It was first identified as a factor in the transport of mannose 6-phosphate receptors from endosomes to the trans-Golgi network.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human PC-3 cells, human THP-1 cells, human HepG2 cells, human U2OS cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 10% SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with confirmed staining (IHC): human colon cancer tissue.
Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.
Conditions in the example images (IHC): heat-mediated antigen retrieval in EDTA buffer (pH 8.0).

Synthetic peptide from the C-terminal region of human perilipin 3. It differs from the mouse sequence at fourteen residues.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places perilipin-3 in the endosome membrane and cytoplasm. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
