Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets peroxiredoxin-5, mitochondrial (gene PRDX5) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot and IHC. The predicted molecular weight is 22.1 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 26 kDa.
Peroxiredoxin 5 (PRDX5) is an atypical 2-Cys peroxiredoxin found in mitochondria, peroxisomes and the cytosol. It reduces hydrogen peroxide, alkyl hydroperoxides and peroxynitrite, helping protect cells against oxidative and nitrosative stress, and it is used as a marker in studies of redox balance and organelle protection.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): rat brain tissue, rat lung tissue, rat liver tissue, rat kidney tissue, HeLa cells, 293T cells, MCF-7 cells, A549 cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Samples with confirmed staining (IHC): human prostatic cancer tissue, rat liver tissue.
Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.
