Product Overview
Clone AFDD-16 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes p53 apoptosis effector related to PMP-22 (gene PERP) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot and ICC/IF. The predicted molecular weight is 21.4 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 21 kDa.
PERP (p53 apoptosis effector related to PMP-22) is a tetraspan membrane protein and a transcriptional target of p53 and p63. It is a component of desmosomes and is needed for their assembly in stratified epithelia such as skin, supporting cell-cell adhesion and barrier function, and it is studied in epithelial integrity and cancer.
