Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody recognizes N-acetylmuramoyl-L-alanine amidase (gene PGLYRP2) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, flow cytometry and ELISA.
PGLYRP2 is a peptidoglycan recognition protein with N-acetylmuramoyl-L-alanine amidase activity, produced mainly by the liver and secreted into blood. It cuts bacterial peptidoglycan into fragments that no longer stimulate inflammation, acting as a scavenger rather than directly killing bacteria, and it is studied in innate immunity.

Immunogen
Recombinant human PGLYRP2 fragment (Asp198–Gln524), expressed in E. coli. Sequence identity with the mouse ortholog: 79.2%.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt describes N-acetylmuramoyl-L-alanine amidase as secreted and also located in the membrane. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Strongly expressed in liver and fetal liver, and secreted into serum.
