Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets phosphoglucomutase-like protein 5 (gene PGM5) in human samples and is validated for Western blot, flow cytometry and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 62.2 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 62 kDa.
PGM5 (also called aciculin) is a phosphoglucomutase-like protein with no detectable phosphoglucomutase activity. It is found at adherens-type junctions between cells and with the matrix, especially in muscle, where it binds dystrophin and utrophin, and it is thought to help organize myofibrils and sarcomeres.

Validated Applications
| Western blot | 0.25–0.5 µg/mL (Human) |
|---|---|
| Flow cytometry (fixed cells) | 1–3 µg/1×106 cells (Human) |
| ELISA | 0.1–0.5 µg/mL |
Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human PC-3 cells, human U2OS cells, human MCF-7 cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with a confirmed signal (flow cytometry): MCF-7 cells.
Immunogen
Recombinant human PGM5 fragment (Gln37–His555), expressed in E. coli. Sequence identity with the mouse and rat orthologs: 97.5% and 96.9%, respectively.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human. UniProt places phosphoglucomutase-like protein 5 in the cell junction, cytoplasm and cell membrane. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Detected in smooth and cardiac muscle at high levels and in skeletal muscle at low level. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
