Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets phosphoglycolate phosphatase (gene PGP) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC, ICC/IF, flow cytometry and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 34.0 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 36 kDa.
Phosphoglycolate phosphatase (PGP, also called AUM) is a metabolite repair enzyme. It dephosphorylates toxic side products of metabolism, such as 2-phosphoglycolate, 4-phosphoerythronate and 2-phospho-L-lactate, that would otherwise inhibit glycolytic and pentose phosphate pathway enzymes, and it is studied in metabolic quality control.

Samples with confirmed staining (IHC): human endometrial adenocarcinoma tissue, human lung cancer tissue, human tonsil tissue, human sophageal squamous carcinoma tissue.
Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.
Conditions in the example images (IHC): heat-mediated antigen retrieval in EDTA buffer (pH 8.0).
Samples with confirmed staining (ICC/IF): PC-3 cells.
Samples with confirmed staining (ICC/IF): human intestinal cancer tissue, human liver cancer tissue.
Samples with a confirmed signal (flow cytometry): PC-3 cells.
Immunogen
Recombinant human PGP fragment (Met1–Gly321), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Detected in all tissues including red cells, lymphocytes and cultured fibroblasts (at protein level). The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
