Product Overview
Clone IGA-10 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes transcription factor Jun phosphorylated at Ser63 in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC and ICC/IF. The predicted molecular weight is 35.7 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 48 kDa.
c-Jun (JUN) is a bZIP transcription factor and core component of AP-1. It forms dimers with Fos family proteins and other partners to bind TRE (TGA[GC]TCA) sites and control genes involved in proliferation, differentiation, stress responses and apoptosis. Its activity is strongly increased by JNK phosphorylation, and it is a widely used readout in studies of cell signaling and cancer.

Samples with confirmed staining (IHC): human breast carcinoma tissue.
Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.
Immunogen
Synthetic phosphopeptide around Ser63 of human c-Jun.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places transcription factor Jun in the nucleus. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Expressed in the developing and adult prostate and prostate cancer cells. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls. Because the antibody is phospho-specific, signal depends on the phosphorylation state of the sample; a phosphatase-treated lysate is a useful negative control.
