Product Overview
Clone IG-3 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes cyclic AMP-responsive element-binding protein 1 (gene CREB1) phosphorylated at Ser133 in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC, ICC/IF, immunoprecipitation and flow cytometry. The predicted molecular weight is 36.7 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 44 kDa.
CREB (CREB1) is a transcription factor that binds cAMP response elements (CRE) in gene promoters. Phosphorylation at Ser133 by PKA and other kinases recruits the coactivators CBP and p300 to switch on target genes, and CREB is widely studied in neuronal plasticity, memory, metabolism and cell survival.

Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places cyclic AMP-responsive element-binding protein 1 in the nucleus. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls. Because the antibody is phospho-specific, signal depends on the phosphorylation state of the sample; a phosphatase-treated lysate is a useful negative control.
