Product Overview
Clone IH-13 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes mitogen-activated protein kinase 3 (gene MAPK3) phosphorylated at Thr202/Tyr204 in human samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC, ICC/IF and flow cytometry. The predicted molecular weight is 43.1 kDa; the supplier reports observed bands at 43, 41 kDa.
ERK1 (MAPK3) is a serine/threonine kinase closely related to ERK2 at the end of the RAS–RAF–MEK–ERK cascade. Once activated by MEK1/2, it phosphorylates many cytoplasmic and nuclear targets that control proliferation, differentiation and survival, and dual phosphorylation of ERK1/2 is a standard marker of pathway activation.

Immunogen
Synthetic phosphopeptide around Thr202 of human erk1 + Erk2.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human. UniProt places mitogen-activated protein kinase 3 in the cytoplasm, nucleus, membrane and cell junction. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls. Because the antibody is phospho-specific, signal depends on the phosphorylation state of the sample; a phosphatase-treated lysate is a useful negative control.
