Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets phosphatidylinositol 4-kinase type 2-beta (gene PI4K2B) in human and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, ICC/IF, flow cytometry and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 54.7 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 50 kDa.
PI4K2B is a type II phosphatidylinositol 4-kinase that converts phosphatidylinositol to PI4P, the first committed step toward PI(4,5)P2. Working alongside PI4K2A and the type III enzymes, it supplies PI4P at the plasma membrane, endosomes and Golgi, supporting membrane trafficking and phosphoinositide signaling.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human HepG2 cells, human 293T cells, human HeLa cells, human MCF-7 cells, rat liver tissue.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with confirmed staining (ICC/IF): A549 cells.
Samples with a confirmed signal (flow cytometry): MCF-7 cells.
Immunogen
Recombinant human PI4K2B fragment (Met1–Lys475), expressed in E. coli. Sequence identity with the mouse and rat orthologs: 78.4% and 79%, respectively.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human and rat. UniProt places phosphatidylinositol 4-kinase type 2-beta in the cytoplasm, Golgi apparatus membrane, endoplasmic reticulum membrane and cell membrane. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Widely expressed. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
