Product Overview
Clone 19P37 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes protein kinase C gamma type (gene PRKCG) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC and ICC/IF. The predicted molecular weight is 78.4 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 78 kDa.
PKCγ (PRKCG) is a conventional protein kinase C expressed mainly in neurons of the brain and spinal cord. It is activated by calcium and diacylglycerol and phosphorylates glutamate receptors and other synaptic proteins, linking it to synaptic plasticity and pain processing; mutations in PRKCG cause spinocerebellar ataxia type 14.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): rat brain tissue, rat cerebellum tissue, mouse brain tissue, mouse cerebellum tissue.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 10% SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 1:500 overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with confirmed staining (IHC): mouse cerebellum tissue, rat cerebellum tissue.
Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.
Conditions in the example images (IHC): heat-mediated antigen retrieval in EDTA buffer (pH 8.0).
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of human PKC gamma.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places protein kinase C gamma type in the cytoplasm, cell membrane, synapse and cell projection. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Expressed in Purkinje cells of the cerebellar cortex. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
