Product Overview
Clone FCH-5 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes interferon-induced, double-stranded RNA-activated protein kinase (gene EIF2AK2) in human samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC, ICC/IF and immunoprecipitation. The predicted molecular weight is 62.1 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 68 kDa.
PKR (EIF2AK2) is an interferon-induced kinase activated by double-stranded RNA. It phosphorylates eIF2α to shut down protein synthesis and limit viral replication, and it is studied in antiviral immunity, inflammation and the integrated stress response.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): MCF-7 cells.

Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human. UniProt places interferon-induced, double-stranded RNA-activated protein kinase in the cytoplasm and nucleus. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Highly expressed in thymus, spleen and bone marrow compared to non-hematopoietic tissues such as small intestine, liver, or kidney tissues. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
