Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody detects plasminogen (gene PLG) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 90.6 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 90–100 kDa.
Plasminogen is the liver-derived zymogen of plasmin, the main enzyme that dissolves fibrin clots. Converted to plasmin by tPA or uPA, it also breaks down extracellular matrix proteins and activates growth factors and metalloproteinases, so it is central to research on fibrinolysis, wound healing and tissue remodeling.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human placenta tissue, rat liver tissue, mouse liver tissue, mouse spleen tissue.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.

Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places plasminogen in the [Plasmin]: Secreted. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Present in plasma and many other extracellular fluids. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
