Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets pleiotrophin (gene PTN) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for ELISA and Western blot. The predicted molecular weight is 18.9 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 19 kDa.
Pleiotrophin (PTN) is a small secreted heparin-binding growth factor that signals through proteoglycan receptors such as PTPRZ1 and syndecans, as well as ALK. It influences cell proliferation, survival, differentiation and migration, particularly in the nervous system and bone, and is studied in development, tissue repair and cancer.

Validated Applications
| Western blot | 0.1–0.5 µg/mL |
|---|---|
| ELISA | 0.1–0.5 µg/mL |
Samples with a confirmed band (WB): rat brain tissue, rat C6 cells, mouse brain tissue.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Immunogen
Recombinant human Pleiotrophin fragment (Gly33–Asp168), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt describes pleiotrophin as a secreted protein. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Osteoblast and brain. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
